Ever since I was a little kiddo, I loved art! I used art as my own outlet for expression through some difficult periods. When I realized I could combine art and therapy in a career, I was hooked. I earned my master’s degree in Art Therapy and Counseling at Marylhurst University in Oregon. My training has been comprised of a variety of settings, including: a domestic violence shelter, education environments with children and young adults on the Autism Spectrum, a short term psychiatric facility, and a community based hospice. In each setting, I observed clients flourish in group therapy. Clients shared their experiences and realized they were not alone, while also realizing they are uniquely themselves at the same time- beautiful, right? My hope for you is that you are able to enter the therapeutic space and feel encouraged to engage in your healing journey.
